KZ 750 Project
This Video is the First time it started after 20 years. Had to remove the muffler because mice had plugged the pipe with seeds. Once removed it fired right up.

But also this was after several weeks rebuilding the carbs. Cleaning and descaling the choke valves, they were rusted shut

This Project has been over 20 years in the making.
I originally rebuilt this bike in 1987. It was 2 bikes (both KZ 750) that had been crashed. My Dad ran a bike shop and he let me rebuild them into one bike.

I had to get the cases welded and re machine out the repair. Then the frame was straightened. It all came together and I drove it all the way to Calgary in the summer of 1989.

I then got married and drove it the last time in the spring of 1990. It has been sitting ever since in storage. This winter I dragged it back out of storage and started the restoration. Finally got it running on May 17, 2009 almost a full 20 years later.

The Plan is to keep frame and engine stock but repaint the tank, fenders and side covers. Do a major clean up of it all, polish the aluminum.

During the original rebuild I changed the headlight and added the fairing. They both were from a GPZ 550.

I am working on the brake system by replacing the lines by adding new fittings and then standard hoses can be used. I was able to order new fittings from Russell Performance Parts thru my local Dealer. The hard part is going to cleaning up the master cylinder and ensuring that all the seals are good. I might have to replace it but I need to check into it a bit more.
